Introduction

Hey, love that you've found me. I go by the name of KBM Artiste - your local artist. I started painting whilst I was at school, I was never a natural. I learned how to paint over many years with the aid of teachers, my peers and the work of other artists. After leaving formal education, I decided to continue painting in a corner of my room with a few paints that were given to me as a gift from my art teacher. During the pandemic, I continued creating and documenting my art journey, with all the challenges and successes via my Instagram page. My overall purpose was to highlight the importance of process over product. The final product is a result of a multitude of tiny failures and successes all coming together in a final painting, that tells your story to the world. That's what makes painting so special as you're able to tell the story of your process and be understood.

The inspiration behind my work

My work is all about growth. As humans, we grow and develop each day and I want the work that I create to capture that. Each painting portrays a different emotion that we can all connect with. This is more than just art, these are pieces that help to connect the human journey.

My style of painting 

You may have noticed that the marks that I make are free-flowing and abstract. I have chosen to paint in this particular way because it is a reflection of people. We are complex and beautifully designed, therefore I experiment with my colour palette to create unique and exclusive pieces that represent the individuality of every one of us.
