ADIRA - (Acrylic On Canvas) - 2020
This is ADIRA meaning strength or power in Hebrew, so many people are struggling with silent battles this piece of a woman with her head held up high and her eyes closed is an ode to all the silent battles that humanity is fighting every day and we endure because we appreciate life, even if there is something small there is always something worth living for. This is a piece that is close to my heart as she was one of the first pieces that I created during lockdown. One of the first pieces that I'd created outside of my formal education. This was scary at first because I no longer had a teacher or a mentor to guide me through a painting and to suggest ways to improve. I had to have all of these conversations by myself. I had to fine-tune my internal dialogue to ensure that I could give myself the correct critiques that ultimately allowed me to create this piece that you see before you. She's a small piece but with a story.
Note: This will be for sale at the Crib Tales Exhibition that will be held on the 12th of October.
